In this blog, Managing Director Stewart Murray Talks about RSS’ commitment to delivering quality rental solutions for temporary power and cooling with committed customer care in a competitive market

Born, raised, educated and trained in Glasgow Scotland, Stewart moved to London to begin his career – recognising early on his aptitude for effecting sustainable change, quickly.

Stewart is passionate about working in agile businesses and this passion took him to Europe, the USA, Australia and the Middle East where he gained his reputation as an accomplished international business visionary.

His experience in executive accountability for large multi-cultural and cross-functional teams, has seen him lead and succeed in many high-profile roles, where he has been responsible for more than 4000 employees.

When asked about what makes a team successful, Stewart’s response is profoundly simplistic.

“Great teams around the world share a few key characteristics, and these are passion, honesty, humour and sheer determination to always do a great job.”

Stewart joined RSS two years ago, and since joining he has invested heavily in RSS’ people.

“In any business, your people are at the very centre of everything you do. So, at RSS we want our people to be proud of who they work for and who they work with, and that means attracting and retaining the best in the market.”

Stewart has an innate ability to understand where change is needed, and how to effect it. And he has used this at RSS where he is responsible for setting, communicating and steering the strategic direction of the company.

“At RSS, we pride ourselves on our agility and ability to continually set the benchmark for industry best-practice. We operate in a competitive market, so our goal is to consistently demonstrate to our customers that RSS delivers against every promise. We relish in competition, because it’s the only way to truly test how good our services are.”

Stewart, who is a firm believer that it’s better to regret something you’ve done than regret something you wish you had done, is dedicated to continuous improvement and demonstrates executive accountability, while being guided by value-based principles.

“To be successful in business, you need to be there for customers when they need you the most. We are proud to have the best products in the market, supported by the best people in the region.”

Considering himself a lifelong learner, Stewart is often found with his nose in a book or screen – absorbing new information to broaden his knowledge.

“When I’m not at work, or learning something new, I like to enjoy the UAE’s sunshine, keep fit and avoid the distraction of Dubai’s culinary scene. However, the latter remains one of my greatest challenges!”
